The town, already producing beef and poultry, was able to use its own livestock to provide residents with meat. Though many of the people involved in the project believed that the greenhouse wouldn’t be able to provide an entire town with the produce it needed for a whole year, the greenhouse ended up not only providing enough produce for the town, there was a surplus of fruits and vegetables that had to be shipped to neighboring communities to keep it from going bad.
